Beekeeping Experience – Gloucestershire

Get up close and personal with the fascinating world of honeybees!

Join us at Bountiful Bees for a unique, hands-on beekeeping experience in the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, curious about honeybees, or looking for an unforgettable gift, our beekeeping experience offers a wonderful opportunity to discover what goes on inside a working beehive.

During your approximately two-hour experience, you'll learn about the incredible lives of honeybees, discover how we care for our colonies, and get the opportunity to see thousands of bees at work.

You'll also learn how honey is produced, from the flowers visited by our bees right through to the delicious honey in your jar.

And, of course, you'll take home a jar of our very own Gloucestershire Honey to enjoy!

Experience Pricing

Our experiences are available for individuals, couples, families and small groups.

• 2 people – £60
• 3 people – £85
• 4 people – £110

Each experience lasts approximately two hours, with an additional charge of just £25 per extra person.

Online bookings are limited to a maximum of four people per experience. If you're interested in booking for a larger group, please contact us directly to discuss your requirements. We'll be happy to explore what we can arrange!

Age & Safety Requirements

To ensure everyone's safety and enjoyment, please be aware of the following requirements:

• Minimum age: All participants must be aged 12 or over. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the experience.
• Bee sting allergies: Unfortunately, we cannot accept participants with a known allergy to bee stings. Although we provide protective clothing and take precautions to minimise the risk, there is always a possibility of being stung when working with live honeybees.

Optional Upgrade Packages

We're excited to be working with Painswick Rococo Garden to introduce optional upgrade packages, making your beekeeping experience even more memorable.

We're exploring packages that could include admission to the beautiful Rococo Garden, access to its café and potentially a delicious treat made using honey produced by our very own bees at the gardens.

These upgrades are currently being finalised, with further details and pricing to follow.

Don't worry if you've already purchased your experience! You'll have the opportunity to add an available upgrade package before your visit, so there's no need to decide straight away.

Booking Your Experience

Our beekeeping experiences take place during the spring and summer months, when our honeybees are most active.

Experiences are available on selected Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, subject to availability and suitable weather conditions.

There's no need to select a date when purchasing. Simply choose the number of participants and complete your order. We'll then work with you to arrange a suitable date.

As the experience involves working with live honeybee colonies, all visits are weather-dependent and may occasionally need to be rearranged.
