Frequently Asked Questions
About Our Honey
Is your honey raw and unprocessed?
Yes! Our honey is raw and minimally filtered — we do as little as possible to it so you get all the natural goodness straight from the hive. We never heat-treat our honey, which means the natural enzymes, pollen, and beneficial properties are all preserved just as nature intended.
Where is your honey sourced from?
All of our honey is produced right here in Gloucestershire. Our bees forage across our apiaries in Staunton, and Sandhurst — each location giving our honey its own unique character depending on the season and the local wildflowers in bloom.
Why has my honey crystallised?
Don't worry — crystallisation is a completely natural process and is actually a sign that your honey is raw and unprocessed! All real honey will crystallise over time. If you prefer it runny, simply place the jar in a bowl of warm (not boiling) water and stir gently until it returns to a liquid. Avoid microwaving, as high heat can damage the natural goodness.
What's the difference between runny and creamed honey?
Both are 100% pure honey — the difference is simply in the texture! Runny honey is in its natural liquid state, perfect for drizzling over porridge or into tea. Creamed honey has been gently churned to create a smoother, spreadable consistency — wonderful on toast or crumpets. Neither is more processed than the other; it's simply a matter of personal preference!
How should I store my honey?
Keep your honey at room temperature, away from direct sunlight. There's no need to refrigerate it — in fact, the fridge can speed up crystallisation. Stored properly, honey has an almost indefinite shelf life. Just make sure to use a clean, dry spoon each time to keep it in tip-top condition.
